HERE'S MY STORY

I have always LOVEd THE THEATRe.

I love the way it transcends what is and allows us to see what could be, and how it connects human beings and provides them with a shared experience of joy, pain, and transformation.

Theatre disrupts the lie that we are separate, reminding us again and again that we are all connected.

For decades, I have seen and felt all the ways that humans live this lie of separation.

I have seen and felt the disconnection, the inequitable systems, the economic and social status quo, the unhealthy lifestyles, the disease pathways, the resentment, the bitterness, and the unconsciousness that have all been built upon this foundation of deception.

It has been my mission to unravel this lie and use connection to weave a new vision for the future...

...a vision I first glimpsed at 10 years old when I began working in the theatre and saw a new possibility for humankind, rooted in connection and finding ways we can all be fully human together.

I have searched out work that stands for healing and systems-level change...

...like collecting and sharing the stories of Holocaust survivors for Steven Spielberg’s Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation... always searching for a new answer to the question: How can we create a truer, more connected world?

The distance is vast between the world I live in now and the vision I see.

It seems impossible.

But it’s only as impossible as our will to act, to move toward a better future, to walk, swim, or row ourselves to a truer, more beautiful reality for every living being.

I KNOW THERE IS ANOTHER WAY.

I can SEE what is possible.
I can FEEL humanity connected.
I HEAR the stories from the future beckoning us to create a new world that works for us all.

But, HOW?

Well... it starts with me.

My life's work is to:

SEE past today to the opportunities of tomorrow.
TRUST so hard in a better future that it truly becomes possible.
WEAVE vision, healing, and connection.
HEAL the system on every level.

Even when it feels impossible...

I believe in a new world before it is revealed.
I believe in what I see and feel, even when others can't see it yet.
I believe in listening to the wisdom of the past.
I believe in creating ripples of change.

What is it time for now?

When the going gets tough—or the going stands still—it’s time to lean into the discomfort of evolution and make a ripple, disrupt the status quo, connect humanity, and cause on-purpose collisions of visionary leaders (even if they don’t yet know they're visionary leaders).

I stand for the open-ended creation of a better world.

There is a new world, a new canoe we can climb in to get there, and a new way of belonging to each other.

I am REBECCA SALTMAN….

I am a ripple maker, a disruptor for good, a see’er, and a senser. It’s the hardest job I've ever had, it’s never comfortable, and it’s what I’m here to do.

I COACH, SUPPORT, and TEACH other people who see, sense, and believe.
I HEAL at scale.
I am a CONVENER of events that better the collective.
I CAPTURE the voices and stories of women.
I am a STORYTELLER so we can collectively remember the wisdom that came before.
I am a DISRUPTOR for GOOD.
I SPEAK about the NEW CANOE we can build and paddle in together on our way to a TRUER, BETTER WORLD.

The revolution starts with me...which means it starts with us all.
